Derek’s wife, Elisa, joins for the final episode of “Relationships Month” to share some of what we’ve learned about marriage and money.

It hasn’t always been puppy love and roses for me and Elisa. After some serious challenges getting to a financially unified place in our marriage early on, we became very proactive in learning more about each other. Now we manage money together with confidence and experience deeper intimacy in our relationship.

We discussed some practical financial steps couples can take to get on the same page and preserve unity in their marriages.

Today’s Mentionables:

Mike Meyer’s film So, I Married an Axe Murderer

    Derek & Elisa,
Fantastic show. I finally was able to hear the full podcast. Listening to you guy was like listening to a play scripted based on our lives. It was so close, its truly scary. I'm looking forward to my wife listening.

    Thanks again,
    Dave
  • Thanks for the feedback, Dave. I'm glad you could relate with our story - I thought I was the only one out there archiving receipts in order of purchase date! (Okay, okay - maybe that's not what you were relating to...)

I appreciate you being a listener!
  • Thanks, Archie! Elisa and I have definitely taken some bumps on the head to get from where we were when we first got married to where we are now. We've both learned to exercise a lot of grace and a lot of humility over the years.

Great show today Derek and Elisa. It's always refreshing to see husband and wife unified in their finances. That is very inspirational and proof that couples CAN make it work. And thanks Derek for answering my question. I'll make sure and save todays show for sure.

    Have a GREAT week guys,

    Archie
